Recipe: Super Easy Apple Pie

Ingredients

Ready-made pie crust 7-8 baking apples, peeled and sliced (see note*) 3/4 c. sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tbsp. flour 1/4 tsp. nutmeg a little milk and sugar for topping

Instructions

  1. Prepare bottom pie shell as directed.
  2. Mix cinnamon, flour and nutmeg.  Stir in apples and mix to coat.
  3. Put apples and sugar mixture into crust.  Dot with butter.
  4. Cover with top pie crust.
  5. Brush top with milk and sprinkle sugar.
  6. Bake at 375 degrees for 50 minutes or until done.

*  I use a bag of pre-sliced green apples and just peel them.

    McIntosh and Winesap apples are great for pies. Cortland and Gala work well, too.
