Is That the Worst?

jenn and robinDo you have your own phrase?  The one your family knows is coming and roll their eyes?  On the way to church this Sunday, my son stepped in something stinky as he was heading to the car, and we drove to church with the windows down and taking shallow breaths.  He grumbled, “This always happens to me!”  And I gave him my stock phrase …”Well, if this is the worst thing that happens to you today…”  (It wasn’t, but that’s another story).  Sometimes it’s so easy to get caught up in all our daily problems and forget to be thankful for all the good things in our lives!

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. ~ Colossians 2:6-7

I’ve spent the past few weeks knee deep in our Christmas banquet preparations and have come to appreciate the wisdom and joy that our speaker exudes.  Even if you aren’t planning to attend, I hope you’ll take the time to listen to Jennifer’s amazing story (clip #1) and a funny event that she shares (clip #2).

“Blindness has given more than it has taken. I have received an opportunity to choose gratefulness, strengthen my faith and learn how to live trusting God more than my feelings. Anything that decreases our dependence on self and increases our dependence on God really is a gift.” – Jennifer Rothschild (CWT online interview)

“Is that the worst?” must be a closely related phrase to “It’s just a dot….in the eyes of eternity” — you’ve been dispensing Godly wisdom for a lot of years, girl! <3
