Remember This

But You, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness and truth.
Ps. 86:15
Do you need to remind yourself of this beautiful truth about God? There are dark times when we feel that we’re about to be knocked over the head with the celestial baseball bat because of something we’ve done. Now don’t get me wrong. Consequences are certain. But do you know how merciful and gracious God is to you? How long He has waited for you to turn to Him? This verse says that He is merciful and gracious, “abundant in lovingkindness and truth.” Abundant. Not a word we use much today but very encouraging in this case. Abundant. Not just a little. Not even a lot but abundant. Here’s the dictionary definition of abundant.
Abundant – Present in great quantity; over sufficient
That’s the God we love and serve. Remember this.
